William Thelmon ""Bill"" Ewton 78 passed away on January 5th 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene Texas. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 9th at 2 pm at First Christian Church located at 1420 North 3rd in Abilene with Senior Minister Don Wilson officiating.   Bill was first and foremost a loving father grandfather and great grandfather. He was proud of his service as a Marine. He was born in Dunlap Tennessee on June 18th 1943. His parents were Irvin and Jeanette Ewton. He had one brother James Ewton who preceded him in death. Bill leaves his wife behind Judith Ewton of Temple Texas his son William Thomas Ewton and wife Karen Shaw Ewton and his daughter Melanie Ann England and husband Chris Pope England. Grandchildren include Jessica Owen and husband Aaron Owen Jenny Ewton Cole Ewton Katie Ewton and Annie Ewton. Great grandchildren include Madeline Owen. He was preceded in death by his grandson Benton Thomas Ewton.   Upon graduating high school in McAlester Oklahoma Bill worked in the oil fields in West Texas before joining the US Marine Corp where he served in Korea. Upon discharge he attended the University of Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Bill moved his family to Dallas where he worked for Rockwall International for over 30 years. During this time Bill traveled all over the world as a telecommunications engineer developing networks in Switzerland the Peoples Republic of China Saudia Arabia India Egypt and Iran.
