William (Billy) Henry Shotwell, III age 65, passed away March 17, 2024 at his home in Leander, TX funeral service will be held Monday March 25, 2024 at 11am at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene TX, 79601. followed by interment at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery at 1pm. visitation will be held from 10am to 11am prior to the service.
Bill, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to William H. Shotwell, Jr. and Ruby McGinnis Shotwell on July 22, 1958. He attended Peabody High School in Alexandria, LA. He received his GED soon after, and enlisted into the US Army, where he served 4 years and received an honorable discharge for his services. While he was stationed in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he met his wife Veronica Wright. They married on July 30,1982, and had three beautiful children, Terrell, Tashawna and Terrance Shotwell, He was also blessed to have a bonus daughter Tiffany Wright.
Billy enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger. He was a kind and generous man and would give whatever he had to bless others. He loved his family and always wanted to visit everyone to let them know they were loved and missed. He would make calls and reach out to family members all the time. He remained in Abilene until his health would not allow, and then moved on to Austin, Texas to live with his cherished sister and brother-in-law, Patricia & Terry Colen.
William (Billy) H. Shotwell. III was preceded in death by his parents, Willam H. Shotwell, Jr., Ruby M. Shotwell, and brother Garry W. Shotwell.

Shotwell, III is survived by his wife Veronica Shotwell, children Terrell (Ramona) Shotwell, Fayetteville, NC,, TaShawna (Rashad) Simmons, Charlotte, SC, Terrance (Katina) Shotwell, Fayetteville, NC; sisters Patricia (Terry) Colen, Austin, Texas, Tawana (Anthony) Carmouche, Pineville, Louisiana, Linda Joyce Shotwell, Dallas, Texas, Paulette Renee Shotwell, Dallas, Texas, Kimberly (Robert) Davidson, Nashville, Tennessee, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
We would like to acknowledge a special mention to Patricia, Terry, Danielle, Jordan and Keana for providing amazing care throughout the years to our beloved brother. Their home provided him a place to be cared for in his most time of need and beyond. He always said he loved living in Austin!
