Willie Lee Daniel, age 68, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 with his family at his side. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15 from 6pm to 8pm at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm, Saturday, October 16 at the First Baptist Church of Rotan, 201 N. McKinley Ave in Rotan, Texas with Rev. Kenneth Huitt officiating. Burial will follow Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. Willie was born on February 1, 1953 in Rotan to Sullivan Daniel, Sr. and Clara Mae Ceasar-Daniel and was one of nineteen children. He worked at the National Gypsum Company for many years. Willie also worked at Circle "C" Grocery store and Lee's Auto Parts. Willie attended Faith Baptist Church in Abilene. He was a sports fan who enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Rotan Yellow Hammer football teams and listening to music. Although Willie had no children of his own showered his siblings and other family members with love, he love to socialize with people. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan, Sr. and Clara Mae Daniel; nine brothers, Sullivan "SD" Daniel, Jr., Jerry "JD" Daniel, Leon "Doc" Daniel, OV Picken, Albert Morris Daniel, Hayward Daniel, Ora Lee Gunn, Tom Degrate and Marc Degrate; five sisters, Bobby Jean "Bob" Daniel, Ossie "OC" Huitt, Ester Pearl Daniel, Jodie Anderson and Mary Louise Suiter; nephews, Samuel Deon Daniel, Robert Lee Huitt, John "Sonny Boy" Huitt, Raven Huitt, Deke Huitt and Leon "JR" Daniel. Willie is survived by three sisters, Mae Ellen "Lucy" Daniel of Abilene, Lillie Mae Daniel of Abilene, Vernell "Boobie" Jones of Rotan and one brother, Jimmy Lee "Ice Cold" Daniel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
